PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Major League Fishing Fisheries Management Division in partnership with Berkley Labs held the third Costa Clean Water Matters shoreline clean-up event of the year at Plattsburgh Waterfront on Lake Champlain. Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit anglers Dakota Ebare, Cole Hewett, Robby Lefere, Terry Luedtke, Jeff McClain, Jimmy Reese, Skeet Reese and Scott Towry along with family and friends from the Plattsburg community and MLF Co-Founder Gary Klein volunteered their morning to clean up the shoreline, rip rap and parking lot of the host marina for this week’s event. After two hours of work and a few interesting fishing stories for the kids, the park was ready to host Covercraft Stop 6.
“Champlain is a very special fishery,” Gary Klein said. “On behalf of MLF, I would like to thank our volunteers especially, the Hewett and Morrison Families, for involving the next generation of anglers in our efforts to keep this fishery pristine.”
In addition to Thursday’s shoreline clean-up, Costa provided the entire field with Costa Kick Plastic reusable trash bags for their personal use throughout this event and all their future days on the water. The next Costa Clean Water Matters shoreline clean-up will be held on Monday, August 8 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Frontenac Park in Union Springs, New York following the Major League Fishing Festival. Local volunteers are always welcome and encouraged to join our anglers for shoreline clean-up events.
