What the Mississippi has to Offer

Breaking down Pools 7, 8 and 9 of the Mississippi River is no simple task, but it’s what every one of the FLW Tour pros will endeavor to do this week in the sixth stop of the season. Based out of La Crosse, Wis., in Pool 8, the pros can fish up and downstream in each of the adjacent pools of the famous waterway, which gives them over 65 miles of main channel to run and miles more of backwaters and side channels spread between Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. TBF Angler Catches N.Y. Record Smallmouth

On Aug. 28, Patrick Hildenbrand of Red Hook, N.Y., caught an 8-pound, 4-ounce smallmouth bass out of the St. Lawrence River during a New York The Bass Federation (NYTBF) tournament. The giant smallie ties the previous record fish caught by Andrew Kartesz in 1995. READ MORE »


Early Reports from Wheeler

Starting this Sunday, the 50 Forrest Wood Cup competitors will hit Wheeler Lake bright and early for the first of three days of official practice. It’ll be the first time the anglers have been allowed on the Tennessee River reservoir since the pre-practice cut off date of July 17. READ MORE »


Johnston Runs Away with ROY

Out of a huge class of 28 new Walmart FLW Tour anglers, Chris Johnston came out on top as the 2016 Rookie of the Year. He was recognized with the ROY trophy at Friday’s day-two weigh-in at the Walmart FLW Tour finale on Lake Champlain. Johnston Way Ahead in ROY Race

Horton Wins Co-angler Title on Kentucky Lake

After two days of fishing, Horton took home the co-angler title in the Walmart FLW Tour presented by Mercury and hosted by the Kentucky Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau on Kentucky Lake. The Nicholasville, Ky., native amassed 33 pounds, 8 ounces over two days to bring home the victory. Horton earned $25,350 for his first win. READ MORE »


COY Standings Tied at the Top

With two events left in the season, the Walmart FLW Tour Co-angler of the Year race is heating up. The top two anglers in the standings both amassed 726 points in the first four events. Agner Wire-to-Wire Co-angler Champ

Aaron Agner led all three days on the California Delta to the win the Costa FLW Series co-angler title in the event presented by Power-pole. The Redding, Calif., native brought in the largest single day co-angler weight on day one and never looked back. The win earned him a new Ranger Z117 with a 90 horsepower engine. READ MORE »


Almassey Earns First Victory at Home

Charley Almassey is the winner of the Costa FLW Series Western Division on the California Delta presented by Power-Pole. The Oakley, Calif., native brought in 60 pounds, 1 ounce over three days to narrowly beat out fellow local Mike Birch. Almassey takes home $32,000 for the victory. READ MORE »


Cal Delta Midday Update Day 3

When the top 10 left the dock at Russo’s Marina this morning it was still anyone’s ballgame. A cloud bank rolled in overnight and the wind laid down, which kept the temperature fairly mild. READ MORE »


Cal Delta Top 5 Patterns Day 2

Despite less than ideal conditions on day two of the Western Division Costa FLW Series event on the Cal Delta presented by Power-Pole, the top anglers still did their best. A strong wind and sharp temperature decline had the top finishers junk fishing to regroup. READ MORE »


Birch Maintains on the Delta

It was a much tougher day on the Cal Delta in the Costa FLW Series Western Division finale presented by Power-Pole as high winds and cool temperatures put a damper on the big bites. Leaning on his nearly 11-pound lead from day one, Mike Birch wrangled a smaller limit of 15-8 to push his overall total to 49 pounds. Cal Delta Top 5 Patterns Day 1

Changing conditions were the name of the game on day one of competition for the Costa FLW Series Western Division on the Cal Delta presented by Power-Pole. Like the previous Clear Lake event, cloud cover and wind replaced the sunny conditions of practice. Birch Blasts 33-8

Day one of the Costa FLW Series event on the California Delta presented by Power-Pole proved to be a bit more challenging than expected. A cold front brought high winds making it difficult to dissect the acres of big-fish holding vegetation famous on the Delta. Local knowledge proved to have the edge as Mike Birch of Oakley, Calif., sacked up 33 pounds, 8 ounces to take a commanding lead of 10-15 over Sean Minderman of Spokane, Wash. READ MORE »

Delta Duel Underway

Day one of the Costa FLW Series event on the California Delta presented by Power-Pole kicked off this morning out of Russo’s Marina. While the Delta is one of the more famed fisheries in the country, it’ll still test the abilities of the 109 pros and co-anglers that blasted off from Russo’s Marina this morning. Western Division Finale Set for Cal Delta

The Costa FLW Series Western Division regular season comes to a close on the California Delta this week. The event, which is presented by Power-Pole, will take off from Russo’s Marina starting on May 19.
