The final round of competition for the Toyota Series Plains Division event on Table Rock Lake has been yet another beautiful early November day with highs in the 70s, a light wind and clear skies.

Cody Huff's leading pattern

Leading throughout the tournament thus far, Missouri’s Cody Huff picked up right where he left off yesterday. Though he didn’t get as fast of start as he did on day two, Huff pieced together a limit close to 12 pounds just before noon. Included in that limit are a few dandy smallmouths close to 3 pounds apiece. His offshore program of chasing suspended fish relating to schools of bait is still paying off around the Indian Point area.

Spencer Shuffield entered the day in fourth and has been running a very similar pattern to Huff this week. The Arkansas pro also got off to a slow start today, but by 1 o’clock reported a limit worth 13 pounds. He’s been spending most of his time around Cow Creek this week where there is a surplus of bait.

It took a while, but we finally caught up with second-place pro Corey Cook, who is up the White River targeting docks, and he reported just one “decent” keeper by 10:30. He was pulling the plug on his river adventure and coming back down the lake when we parted ways. He hasn’t got many bites throughout the day, but the ones he does get are good. He’s got plenty of time left to make something happen and with just 1 pound, 3 ounces separating him and Huff it could get interesting at weigh-in if he finds a limit.

Jason Lieblong and Blake Edwards made a long run up the James River and we were unable to locate them for updates. Fifth-place pro Cole Breeden has three keepers as of 9 o’clock this morning. The rest of the field reported a fish or two, though most of our updates came early in the day.

With time winding down, Huff is closing in on his second Toyota Series title, though there’s still plenty of fishing left. Tune in to the weigh-in at 3 p.m. CT to see if Huff can close the door or if someone will bump him off the throne.
