ICAST Cup Winners Announced

ICAST Cup Winners Announced

The ICAST Cup presented by FLW, a popular part of the ICAST tradeshow for the last five years, kicked off ICAST Online as a fish, photograph and release tournament Saturday and Sunday with 50 anglers across the country fishing their local waters to raise money for Keep America Fishing.

Each participant paid a $20 entry fee that goes directly to support the Keep America Fishing and its efforts to preserve every angler’s right to sustainably fish on our nation’s waterways. Participating anglers logged their daily catch into the tournament via cellphone photo on an approved measuring board using the popular FishDonkey app.

The ICAST Cup featured five geographic divisions – Central, Northern, Southeastern, Southern and Western – with anglers competing over two days to tally the most inches for their five longest largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass. The top two finishers from each division are:

Central Division:

 1st: Mark Balbinot 85.75 inches

 2nd: Russ Chargualaf 82.00 inches

Northern Division:

 1st: Michael Ovaska 82.50 inches

 2nd: Casey Reed 77.50 inches

Southeastern Division:

 1st: Doug Wilson 103.25 inches

 2nd: Ronan 99.00 inches

Southern Division:

 2nd: Jason McDonner  63.75 inches

Western Division:

Complete results and photos are available on the FishDonkey app and ICASTCup.com.

Since its inception, the ICAST Cup has raised more than $50,000 for Keep America Fishing.

As the voice of the American angler, Keep America Fishing works to keep our public resources – our oceans, lakes, rivers and streams – open, clean and abundant with fish. For more information, please visit KeepAmericaFishing.org.

Each year, ICAST serves as an opportunity for manufacturers, distributors and retailers to learn about new products and conduct business, as well for outdoor media to share what’s new with the public. This year, due to changes in the way businesses are operating during the COVID-19 pandemic, the ICAST show transitioned from an in-person event to an online experience that is now open to the public for the first time ever.

ICAST Online is free to attend. Access to the virtual tradeshow is available at ICASTfishing.org. Visit the website now to see all the latest gear, tackle and accessories before it becomes available for sale to the public.

Au Best in the West

While 2020 has been a year to forget for many people, Tai Au will cherish it forever. In doing so, he won the season opener on Lake Havasu, banked a top 10 on the California Delta and closed it out with another win on Clear Lake to handily win the Western Division Strike King Angler of the Year title.
