FISHING LEAGUE WORLDWIDE

2020 T-H Marine BFL Schedules and Details

2020 T-H Marine BFL Schedules and Details

Major League Fishing (MLF) and Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) recently announced the 2020 T-H Marine Bass Fishing League details, schedules, rules, entry fees and payouts. The BFL will still consist of 24 divisions, with four one-day qualifiers and one two-day Super Tournament per division.

Highlights include:

Reduced entry fees – MLF and FLW are rolling back entry fees in the BFL to give grassroots anglers – the heart and soul of the bass fishing community – the best payouts at the lowest cost available anywhere. Entry fees are now just $200 per boater and $100 per co-angler for one-day qualifiers and $300 per boater and $150 per co-angler for two-day Super Tournaments – the lowest levels since 2014. That saves you $450 per division as a boater and $225 per division as a co-angler while you compete for the most lucrative awards available to weekend anglers and pursue the coveted All-American title.

No change in payouts – While entry fees have been lowered, BFL payouts remain the same as 2019 with boaters fishing for top awards of $6,000 plus contingency bonuses in each one-day qualifier and $9,000 plus contingency bonuses in each two-day Super Tournament. Co-anglers fish for top awards of $3,000 plus contingency bonuses in each one-day qualifier and $4,500 plus contingency bonuses in each two-day Super Tournament.

Post-season opportunities – The top 45 boaters and co-anglers plus tournament winners from each division advance to six no-entry-fee Regional championships with top awards of $60,000 for boaters and $50,000 for co-anglers. Competitors can also qualify for a no-entry-fee Wild Card regional, the no-entry-fee All-American with top awards of $100,000 for the boater and $50,000 for the co-angler, and even the FLW Series Championship with top awards of $200,000 for the pro/boater and $30,000 for the co-angler. The highest-finishing boater and co-angler from each Regional Championship (including the Wild Card) at the All-American advance to the FLW Series Championship.

Angler of the Year and Co-angler of the Year Awards – The Angler of the Year in each division earns $1,000, while the Co-angler of the Year in each division earns $500.

FLW Series entry priority – Top 45 boaters and co-anglers plus tournament winners from each division earn priority entry into the FLW Series.

Why You Should Crank Current Breaks Now

Why You Should Crank Current Breaks Now

“It’s almost like a wintertime pattern already,” Salzman says. “It’s kind of interesting. Because it’s been so hot and then so cold, the fish kind of got into the mouths of the creeks this year and never fully pushed into them. The majority of the bait is on the main lake on every lake in Alabama. The water temp was falling so quickly that the back bays were too cold, so the most stable water is on the main lake.” READ MORE »

Make a Tiny Swimbait Your Winter Go-To

Make a Tiny Swimbait Your Winter Go-To

However, it’s not the time of year when you want a ton of rods on deck, and having a confidence bait or two is a must. For Casey Smith, the go-to winter weapon is super simple: a little bitty swimbait on a jighead. READ MORE »
