2020 FLW Series Contingency Awards

PHOENIX:

Phoenix awards $35,000 to the winning pro in each qualifying tournament and the FLW Series Championship if he or she meets FLW Phoenix Bonus guidelines. If the winner is not FLW Phoenix Bonus qualified, the highest-finishing pro who meets FLW Phoenix Bonus guidelines receives $1,000. Pros must be the original owner of a 2016 or newer Phoenix boat and meet all FLW Phoenix Bonus clothing, decal and participation requirements. Phoenix logo must be visible across the front of the jersey (minimum 12” wide by 1.75” tall). All factory-installed Phoenix decals must be on the boat in their original position, or wrapped boats must have the Phoenix logo in the same size (38” long) and in an equally visible location as the original decals. MERCURY BONUS BUCKS:

The Mercury Bonus Bucks contingency bonus goes to the winning pro in each qualifying event if he or she is the original registered owner/first purchaser of a 2018 or newer 115-250 HP Mercury outboard. (Mercury National Team pro team members are excluded, as National Team contractual incentives will apply.)

  • Angler must be the original registered owner/first purchaser of a 2018 or newer Mercury outboard, 115 through 250 HP only. Mercury Racing and Mercruiser engines are excluded regardless of horsepower rating.
  • Angler must have the outboard registered with Mercury prior to competing. The Mercury Warranty registration phone number is 920.929.5054.
  • Angler must use the outboard all days of competition during the tournament.
  • Mercury has final say on approvals for all contingency payouts and reserves the right to change or discontinue this program at any time without notice.

It is the responsibility of anglers to make sure the engine is registered in their name with Mercury prior to competing. Non-registered engines will not be eligible. Note: For engines purchased from Mercury pro staff, please call the warranty line to confirm registration eligibility.

T-H MARINE ATLAS AWARDS:

T-H Marine awards cash prizes to Atlas Awards members who are the winners or highest qualifying finisher of sanctioned events, giving everyone the opportunity to win like top-level pros. The Atlas Awards program is just $29.99 for a one-year (Jan. 1, 2020 – Dec. 31, 2020) membership and gives all anglers the chance to compete for, and win, extra money just for having T-H Marine parts on their boat. This also includes one T-H Marine hat and two logo decals. Logo must be visible on boat and jersey worn on stage. Jersey logo can be replaced with Atlas cap.

Highest-Finisher Awards:

If an Atlas Awards member does not win the event, T-H Marine will pay $100 to the highest-finishing Atlas Awards member inside the top 10 percent or $50 to the highest finisher inside the top 20 percent. To receive the highest-finisher award, Atlas Awards member must own Atlas Hydraulic Jack plate and fill out claim form. All Atlas Awards claims must be submitted within 30 days of tournament win. Claims must be made through the online claims form.


POWER-POLE CAPTAINS CASH:

Power-Pole awards a $500 Captains Cash Bonus to the winning pro in each qualifier and the FLW Series Championship if he or she meets Captains Cash Rewards Club contingency requirements.

Requirements:

  • Captains Cash Rewards Club is open to all tournament anglers fishing any Captains Cash sanctioned event.
  • Annual membership is $24.95. Membership is valid from October through December of the following year. Purchase a Club Membership
  • Registration must be completed prior to any sanctioned tournament to be eligible for contingency payments.
  • Eligible contingency payment participants are registered Power-Pole owners who are registered members of the Captains Cash Club.
  • Registered Power-Pole owners placing first place overall only in a sanctioned event are eligible for contingency payments.
  • Power-Pole Pro Staff are required to purchase Captains Cash membership in order to qualify for Captains Cash Rewards payments.
  • Only one possible payout per tournament. A maximum of one angler per tournament will be rewarded.
  • Sanctioned tournaments must have a minimum of 20 boats registered to qualify for Captains Cash Rewards payments.
  • Winners must be verified through the sanctioned tournament via website, newsletter or other official organization communication and obtain tournament director’s signature on claim form.
  • Completed Power-Pole Captains Cash claim form must be submitted within 30 days of the tournament win and can be obtained here.
  • JL Marine Systems employees and members of their immediate family are not eligible to participate.
  • Approval of claims and payments is at sole discretion of JL Marine Systems, Inc.
  • Payment claimants must have Power-Pole registered with JL Marine Systems (manufacturer).
  • Power-Pole Captains Cash decals must be displayed on participants’ boat or Power-Pole anchor.
  • Approval of claims and payments is at the sole discretion of JL Marine Systems, Inc.
  • Payment claimants must have their Power-Pole anchor(s) registered with JL Marine Systems, Inc.

  • JL Marine reserves the right to change, modify, enhance, or terminate the Captains Cash Rewards program at any time. Refer to power-pole.com for current rules. Rules posted at power-pole.com supersede any previously printed rules.
  • It is the participant's responsibility to know the rules of the Captains Cash Rewards program and must submit proof that all requirements have been met upon request.
  • Power-Pole Captains Cash Rewards recipients will be responsible for paying any and all local, state, federal or other taxes on contingency earnings.

BERKLEY CAST FOR CASH:

Berkley awards cash payouts ranging from $100 to $1,000 to the top two Cast for Cash members at each FLW Series qualifier and the FLW Series Championship.

  • The Berkley Cast for Cash program costs $29.99 and runs from January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2020. Membership can be purchased at berkley-fishing.com.
  • Each Berkley Cast for Cash membership includes a $50 Berkley Pro Pack with the following items:
    • Berkley Cast for Cash hat
    • Berkley Cast for Cash boat decal
    • Two packages of soft baits – angler’s choice
    • Two hard baits – angler’s choice
  • Any Berkley Cast for Cash member can win the following cash prizes based on his or her performance. Prize money is awarded to eligible anglers who finish 1st and 2nd out of all Cast for Cash members in each tournament.

Requirements: For an angler to be eligible to win Cast for Cash contingency prize money, he or she must follow the terms and conditions listed below.

  • Anglers must use Berkley hard or soft bait in sanctioned tournaments to be eligible to win Cast for Cash contingency prize money. 
  • Anglers must purchase a membership and register for Cast for Cash before tournament registration to be considered eligible at that tournament. The member will then be eligible through the remainder of the Cast for Cash tournament season.
  • Anglers must have their Cast for Cash membership cards and a valid government issued ID available to present to officials at all sanctioned tournaments.
  • If fishing in a team tournament, both anglers must be individually registered Cast for Cash members to qualify for pay outs. There will only be one payout awarded per team. 
  • An angler must indicate that he or she is a Cast for Cash member when registering for sanctioned tournaments (if applicable) and must comply with all tournament guidelines to be eligible to win Cast for Cash prizes. 
  • Each angler must display a Cast for Cash membership decal (provided in the Berkley Pro Pack) on a visible area of his or her boat. 
  • Membership is annual, lasting from January 1st of the membership year or the date purchased thereafter, and will expire on November 30th of that same year. 
  • Tournaments must have a minimum of 20 boats to be a Cast for Cash sanctioned event. 
  • Anglers must comply with all sanctioned tournaments’ guidelines to be considered eligible. 
  • Anglers must be willing to submit to a polygraph test at any sanctioned tournament. It is at the discretion of the tournament director to decide if a polygraph test should be administered. 
  • Cast for Cash winners are responsible to pay all taxes on Cast for Cash contingency winnings. 
  • All decisions on eligibility and payment will be made by tournament directors at Cast for Cash sanctioned tournaments. In the event of a dispute, Berkley reserves its right to make final determinations on eligibility and payment, and any such decision will be made final. 
  • Tournament directors will award payouts in a timely manner and as they see fit. Payouts should be sent to Cast for Cash prize winners within no more than thirty (30) days after the sanctioned tournament. 
  • I consent to and authorize Pure Fishing, Inc., and its affiliate companies, to capture and use my appearance, image, voice, photograph, video, quotation, or any other likeness, for any purpose, including but not limited to, educational, promotional, or marketing/advertising purposes and in any media format. 
  • IN NO EVENT SHALL PURE FISHING BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE DAMAGE OR LOST PROFITS REGARDLESS OF THE NATURE OF THE CLAIM OR NOTICE GIVEN. THESE LIMITATIONS WILL APPLY TO ALL CLAIMS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTY, CONTRACT, INDEMNITY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR STRICT LIABILITY. STRIKE KING ANGLER OF THE YEAR:

The Strike King Angler of the Year in each division, as determined by total points, receives $5,000. Ties are resolved by total weight, then total number of fish and then total number of live fish.

Forrest Wood’s Legacy

Forrest Wood’s Legacy

Surrounded by his family, Forrest Wood passed away in a Mountain Home, Ark., hospital just after 9 a.m. Saturday, four days after suffering a heart attack in his home. Wood, who was 87 at the time of his death, was the founder of Ranger Boats of Flippin, Ark. A pioneer of bass tournament fishing, he helped launch the careers of hundreds of aspiring tournament anglers through sponsorships. During his 20-year span at the helm of the company he founded with his wife, Nina, Forrest is credited with laying the groundwork for the modern bass boat through his innovative designs and engineering advancements. At the registration meeting for this week’s Pro Circuit season opener at Sam Rayburn Reservoir, FLW announced that Daniel had been promoted to senior director of tournament operations for the Pro Circuit, FLW Series and Phoenix Bass Fishing League, with responsibilities to include directing the Pro Circuit. Bill Taylor, who served as tournament director for the FLW Tour from 2001 through 2019, has been promoted to senior director of operations, where he’ll lend his expertise acquired through more than two decades as a tournament director toward logistics, angler relations and event planning for all FLW circuits.
