Luke Dunkin is Pulling Back the Curtain

Luke Dunkin is Pulling Back the Curtain

With Luke Dunkin, what you see is what you get. And you get to see a lot. The three-year FLW pro is all about authenticity – the kind of authenticity that only comes from pulling back the curtain to reveal everything that happens in the life of a Tour angler. As Dunkin puts it, “it’s not all roses.” But make no mistake: None of that is breaking Dunkin. In fact, those sometimes-hard-to-stomach drawbacks to fishing professionally are exactly what motivate Dunkin to do what he loves nearly as much as fishing – letting other people into that life. Studio Notes: Smith Lake

Studio Notes: Smith Lake

The fun of Studio Notes is going back in hindsight and looking at an FLW Tour event with 20/20 vision to see what happened and what could be learned. After all, when a bunch of the nation’s best bass anglers fish a lake for a week, there are a lot of observations to be made that make for some interesting theories. READ MORE »

Top 10 Patterns from Lewis Smith

Top 10 Patterns from Lewis Smith

No one pulled this off better than David Williams, who focused on skipping a swim jig under docks to capitalize on the shad spawn en route to winning the tournament. Nearly everyone behind him tried to follow suit, albeit with a multitude of patterns. READ MORE »

AOY Update: Smith Lake

AOY Update: Smith Lake

Finishing 54th and cutting a check is hardly a slip-up for an FLW Tour pro. Then again, it’s not good for Bryan Thrift’s chances at winning a second consecutive Pennzoil Marine Angler of the Year title, either. READ MORE »

Smith Lake Top 5 Patterns – Day 3

Smith Lake Top 5 Patterns – Day 3

It basically comes down to one question: Can anyone catch David Williams? While Matt Arey and Cody Meyer have also stayed in the top five all three days, Williams continues to expand his lead every day of the FLW Tour event presented by T-H Marine on Smith Lake. That lead is now up to more than 6 pounds, which means it’s going to take a giant sack to catch him. Then again, it’s happened here before the last time visited Smith, when Zack Birge surrendered a significant lead on the final day. READ MORE »

Williams Looking Good

Williams Looking Good

David Williams has been putting on a show this tournament, and he’s thinking he may be saving his best for last. The Maiden, N.C., pro continued to milk his simple pattern to bring in the biggest sack of the day for the second time this event. Today, it he brought in 16 pounds, 12 ounces to extend his lead to more than 6 pounds at the FLW Tour presented by T-H Marine on Lewis Smith. The only pro to break 50 pounds, Williams’ total is 50-12, which makes it look like he’s fishing a prespawn event.  READ MORE »

Smith Lake Day 3 Coverage

Smith Lake Day 3 Coverage

Day three of the FLW Tour presented by T-H Marine on Smith Lake looks like another beauty. There’s some fog, but so much that we didn’t start on time, and it’s going to warm into a glorious day. Rolling out with almost a 4-pound lead, David Williams is in command – unlike his charge at Lanier, it sure feels like he can sustain through the weekend. If that’s the case, the folks chasing him will really need to catch ‘em. READ MORE »
