Bubble Watch: Lake Cumberland

The top 40 pros in the FLW Tour standings will qualify for the show, which is being held Aug. 10-12 on Lake Ouachita. Like in years past, the cut will extend a few extra places down the Tour standings due to double-qualifying pros who previously made it in through other means but also finish the season inside the cut. Currently, Jason Abram, Sheldon Collings, Todd Hollowell, Justin Atkins and Bryan Thrift are pre-qualified due to their accomplishments in 2017. Right now, everyone but Todd Hollowell is either inside the cut or so close to it that it’s reasonable to expect the Cup cut to drop down to at least 43rd or 44th place. READ MORE »

Jared McMillan had a great run at the top of the points, but a tough day two on Cumberland dropped the young pro out of the lead in the blink of an eye. Now, it’s a pile of FLW Tour stalwarts at the head of the race for the Pennzoil Marine Angler of the Year title. READ MORE »

Day two of the FLW Tour presented by General Tire on Lake Cumberland was pretty wild. It featured some stout smallmouths and largemouths and a pile of exciting moves up and down the leaderboard. The steady factors were the top four pros – Andy Morgan, Darrel Robertson, Clent Davis and Bryan Thrift have stayed very consistent thus far. In the lead, Morgan lost enough fish to put a gap between himself and the field, but through it he managed to boat 15-12 to stay on top. Lake Cumberland Day 2 Coverage

Lake Cumberland Day 2 Coverage

Cumberland offered a lot of variety on day one, and she figures to do the same today. With the big warm-up continuing (shorts were a common sight at takeoff this morning), the fish should get even closer to spawning, despite continually dropping water levels. This has been the biggest spinnerbait tournament in recent memory, and they’ll catch a ton of fish again today, but finesse stuff is getting a workout too. Though largemouths don’t seem to actually be on beds in many places, there are some smallmouths spawning deeper that should continue to play. READ MORE »
