If you're struggling with holiday shopping for an angler or are looking for fishing-related ideas for your own Christmas list, something from the list below is likely to trip your trigger. If you're still looking for options after reading, part two might have something that's just the ticket.

Bass Mafia

$29.99 – Bass Mafia Bait Coffin 3700

The Bass Mafia Bait Coffin 3700 is a little pricier than the average tackle box, but you get a beefed-up box for the beefed-up price. You can absolutely use it to store hard baits or soft plastics, but it really shines for terminal tackle. Because of the heavy-duty construction, items inside are less prone to mysteriously travel between dividers, and big tungsten weights won't damage the box.

Lew's TP-1 Speed Stick rods

$99.99 – Lew's TP-1 Speed Stick rods

The TP-1 Speed Stick series from Lew's is priced pretty low but is a pretty good option for anglers. If you're a veteran tournament angler it probably won't be the best rod you've ever owned, but it will still do the job for many techniques. In particular, the models that are around 7 feet long can be very useful. They're fairly light, well-constructed and sharp-looking if you like white. With the MicroWave guide system and Winn Grips, they also pack some higher end features. As far as action goes, the rods tend to the middle or heavy side of each category, so the 7-foot, medium-heavy-power model is perfectly suitable for mid-sized swimbaits, ChatterBaits, dragging plastics and the like.

Reins Tungsten

$6.99-$15.99 – Reins Tungsten

Whether you shop light or heavy, some tungsten weights ranging from about 1/8 to 2 ounces make a great gift. The cost of tungsten adds up, but you can pretty much shop to your budget depending on the size and quantity that you purchase. No matter if the person you’re buying for fishes in Texas, Vermont or California, having a good stock of tungsten is borderline essential, and it'll definitely improve his or her fishing.

$21.99-$29.99 – SPRO BBZ-1 Rat

The SPRO BBZ-1 Rat will work in any of the sizes almost anywhere in the country. Despite their effectiveness, rat baits are still under-thrown. It probably has something to do with how weird they look, but once you see one in the water you'll be convinced. Even if you aren't, the bass already are. Point is, you can't go wrong giving or receiving one of these dudes.

Megabass Ito Vision 110

$24.99 – Megabass Ito Vision 110

Widely regarded as the best jerkbait money can buy, the Vision 110 is still at the top of the heap after a few years of dominance. It comes in a million colors, has great action, suspends consistently and casts great. Decked out with premium hardware (though some change the hooks to a bit heavier model), this jerkbait catches a pile of bass.

Storm Twitch Stick

$5.49 – Storm Twitch Stick

Storm has revamped many of its offerings in recent years, including the Twitch Stick 10, which is priced pretty cheap. Built more along the lines of the famous Lucky Craft Pointer, it's a solid bait that at least merits a try if you haven't settled on a jerkbait you love or simply want to try something new.

Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp Split Ring Pliers

$6.99 – Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp Split Ring Pliers

These cutters from Eagle Claw are pretty sweet for the price. When sharp and in good working order they cut braid and other line very well. Having the split ring tip is a nice bonus for when you need to replace some hardware. These guys will rust, so make sure you hit them with some WD40 every so often or keep them out of the wet if you can.

Gamakatsu TGW Drop-Shot Hook

$3.99 – Gamakatsu TGW Drop-Shot Hook

There are a ton of drop-shot hooks on the market, and many of them work quite well. Even if you've used a lot of other kinds, you'll probably be impressed by the Gamakatsu TGW Drop-Shot Hooks. Designed by Aaron Martens (who knows a thing or two about a drop-shot), these are really sharp, plenty strong and hold up well to a pile of hard-pulling, deep-biting smallies.

Luhr-Jensen Speed Trap

$6.49 – Luhr-Jensen Speed Trap

Speed Traps have a cult following all over the country. The 1/4-ounce size doesn't cast particularly well and can be a little more fragile than the average plastic square-bill, but man do they catch bass. From Champlain to Guntersville to the Cal Delta, the Speed Trap comes in plenty of colors to match the hatch and will load the boat under the right conditions.

UV Buffs

$22.99 – Buff UV Buff

It's never too early in the season to think about the sun and its potentially harmful effects on the skin. The UV Buff blocks 95 percent of UV rays and is made of better fabric than the freebie face shields you can grab at so many tournament registrations. There's no excuse for not caring about sun protection, and Buff is the original and still one of the best. On top of it, these guys come in about every color or pattern you could imagine, so you can match the pickiest angler's taste with ease.
