My plan hasn’t changed since Day 1, though I may have to adapt it for tomorrow.

I don’t really have a certain area I’m fishing. I’m just running whatever looks good, zooming in and out of pockets trying to find fish spawning. It doesn’t matter where I go just so long as I do it shallow and fast.

The weather was supposed to change today, but the weather really doesn’t have any effect on me. The only thing I changed was today just looked for pockets where the wind wasn’t blowing in where I could see. That’s how I caught my fish today. I used a wacky-rigged Damiki Stinger for fish I couldn’t see, and when I could see them I caught them on a 3-inch Damiki Air Craw.

That said, I’m going to have to catch 26 pounds tomorrow, since Clark Wendlandt has more than a 6-pound lead on me. That means I’m going to have to run around and find the five biggest fish I can, which is what you’re out there doing every day, but I know I have to find five big ones. I don’t need to waste time on 2 ½-pounders and 3-pounders if it’s going to take time to catch them. I’m not going to waste time on a fish unless it’s a big one.

The good part is I’ve seen some big bags. I saw 20-plus today, including one real big one, like an 8-pounder. They’re just real finicky and it’s hard to get them to bite. I haven’t been able to catch those yet, but I’ll have to tomorrow.
