On one hand, I’m excited to make the first cut, but sitting in 13th, my goal now is to make the second cut and be in the top 10. That’s my focus, and it certainly will be interesting.

Day three is gonna be a different day, based on the weather that’s forecasted – rain, clouds and a big cool down. I’ve been mainly sight fishing, and those conditions could push some fish off the beds. That means I’m going to just have to go fishing and run a whole bunch of new water.

That’s actually what I did today, and it worked out for me. I’m concentrating on stuff that’s off the wall and that other guys are overlooking. At this point, I can almost call my shots on where the fish are going to be just by driving down the lake and looking in different pockets and coves.

My brother, Chris, is actually doing the same thing, but the nice thing is I haven’t seen him during the tournament. He’s doing his own thing in one area and I’m doing mine in another. There’s obviously a rivalry, since one of us could knock the other out of the top 10, but we split everything. So we’re cheering each other on.

My plan for tomorrow is to start off on two good ones I’ve found – one I lost three times today. They should be easy to catch. I’m going to keep looking after that, but I will probably do a lot more casting because the weather will make it much harder to see fish. Then I’m just going to go with what my gut tells me and see what happens.
