Sam Newby’s 4-13 big bass is a pretty impressive fish this early in the game at Beaver. That would normally take big bass for the whole week here. Maybe the high water will be a boon for everybody. We’ll see.

* Update 2: 5-4 big bass for Mark Pack. No surprise there; he’s a Beaver Lake specialist from way back when. He, along with Clark Wendlandt’s contending weight, is making many fantasy players happy today. Also, Newby’s no stranger to success at Beaver, either.

* Update 3: 5-5 for Alvin Shaw and 5-11 for Greg Pugh, more regular contenders at Beaver. This one’s turning out to be a fantasy dream. Lotsa familiar names.

* Update 4: OK, finally some new blood. 6-0 big bass for Rob Digh, who hasn’t yet made his mark in Arkansas. Man, the bass are biting at Beaver right now.
