Warmer Weather Good Sign at St. Johns

The cold front that moved through northeast Florida last week shut down the fishing on the St. Johns River in a big way, just as bass were starting to move up to the banks to begin spawning. With the weather that came through, many of those fish pulled back off the bank to wait for more stable conditions. Fortunately, stability arrived this week in the form of warmer weather, but it remains to be seen if those three or four days of warm, stable conditions are going to be enough to get fish back up on beds. Crosnoe Flips Up Victory on St. Johns

PALATKA, Fla. – Robert Crosnoe of Inverness, Florida, weighed a three-day total of 14 bass totaling 47 pounds, 6 ounces to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Regional Championship on the St. Johns River Saturday. For his victory, Crosnoe took home a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy 1500 Silverado as well as entry into the 2015 BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Hudgins wins Wal-Mart BFL event on St. John’s River

PALATKA, Fla. — Boater Bryan Hudgins of Orange Park earned $3,698 Saturday as winner of the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Seminole Division event on the St. John’s River. The tournament was the first of five regular-season Seminole Division events and featured 115 boaters vying for the win, which earned Hudgins 200 points in the Boater Division.
