Batts Signs with Georgia Go Fish Education Center

Clayton Batts

FLW Tour pro Clayton Batts has signed a sponsorship deal with the Go Fish Education Center in Perry, Georgia. The Center’s facilities, programs and outreach directly support the mission to promote and enhance boating and fishing tourism in Georgia and to boost economic development in communities across the state.

“I really enjoy spending time with kids and sharing my passion for the outdoors,” Batts says. “The Go Fish Center is a great educational resource for anglers of all skill sets. It showcases all that Georgia’s lakes and rivers have to offer, and this is due to the hard work the Georgia Department of National Resources puts into stocking programs and maintaining the quality of our fisheries.”

“We’re real excited to work with Clayton [Batts], he’s going to help us reach some new audiences and increase awareness and visitation,” says Scott Robinson, Director of the Go Fish Education Center. “Along with some great educational programs, we have over 200,000 gallons of aquariums to showcase Georgia’s fish and aquatic resources.”

As a part of an outdoor education program, the Go Fish Center offers a host of fun activities that teach people about fishing.

“We think working with Clayton [Batts] is going to be a perfect match,” Robinson continues. “He’s going to bring more people to the center, recruit new anglers as well as improve the skills of our existing anglers.”

The Go Fish Center is located at 1255 Perry Parkway, Perry Georgia. For more information, you can contact them at 478-988-6701 or visit their website at gofisheducationcenter.com.

Amistad Midday Update - Day 3

Lake Amistad was in a stingy mood for the final day of Costa FLW Series Southwestern Division action, as evidenced by a lot of long-faced anglers with lots of vacancy in their livewells. A slightly warmer day began with flat, calm conditions, but a light breeze was gaining some consistency by early afternoon. It’s possible that the growing ripples may break up the surface enough to stimulate a few fish into chasing reaction baits. READ MORE »

Young Healed, Ready for Another Shot

Luke Dunkin is Pulling Back the Curtain

With Luke Dunkin, what you see is what you get. And you get to see a lot. The three-year FLW pro is all about authenticity – the kind of authenticity that only comes from pulling back the curtain to reveal everything that happens in the life of a Tour angler. As Dunkin puts it, “it’s not all roses.” But make no mistake: None of that is breaking Dunkin. In fact, those sometimes-hard-to-stomach drawbacks to fishing professionally are exactly what motivate Dunkin to do what he loves nearly as much as fishing – letting other people into that life. Review: Graph Glass

Graph Glass is a tempered screen protector that you can self-install on the most popular models of fishing electronics. For about $45 to $60 per unit, it protects the screen from flying tungsten or other projectiles, and there are other benefits as well. As far as I can tell, it’s a real winner of a product. Create a Base List of Go-To Baits

Every season, my garage goes from organized to absolute chaos as I come and go from one tournament to the next. By the time I empty out my boat in the fall to sell it, I wind up with a mountain of tackle that needs to be dealt with. It needs to be culled, cleaned up, organized, re-stocked or replaced so it can be packed into my new boat, organized in the garage or stowed in my truck bed camper, keeping in mind all the lakes and reservoirs the FLW Tour will be visiting from January through August. How to Fish Lipless Crankbaits

As the name suggests, lipless crankbaits are just that – lipless. Unlike their billed counterparts, lipless crankbaits don’t have a diving lip to counteract the natural buoyancy of the bait. As a result, lipless crankbaits are made to sink and can be fished at varying depths with a wobbling side-to-side action. READ MORE »
