After a day off due to severe thunderstorms and lightning, competition resumed this morning for the final day of the Costa FLW Series event on Grand Lake. Because of the massive influx of rain water into the system, the lake rose about a foot overnight. Stained water has crept down the lake a good bit, but the clear water pockets in the lake’s lower end were still stable and clear.

Tournament leader Nick Prvonozac wasted no time putting his first five fish in the boat for about 12 pounds. Though Prvonozac can’t see fish on the beds, he’s pitching around in likely bedding areas and seems to have plenty of cooperative fish.

Meanwhile, runner-up Matt Arey – who was about 1-14 behind Prvonozac – put five in the well for about 12 pounds pretty quickly as well.

Oklahoma native Chad Warren is off to a good start, too, flipping up a 5-pounder to get his day started and reports having around 9 pounds.

Fifth place pro Drew Boggs had three fish, though, one was a 4-pounder.

The dark horse for the day, however, just might be the ever-dangerous Todd Castledine who put two dandies in the boat early on a topwater.

“They better hope these fish don’t start eating this topwater,” Castledine warns. “If I can get this deal going, it might get ugly today.”

The weights are tight and this tournament could come down to who sacks up the largest limit of Grand Lake bass today. Tune in to the action starting at 2:30 CT to see who will be crowned champion on both the pro and co-angler side of things.
