Top 10 Baits from the Harris Chain

Top 10 Baits from the Harris Chain

There’s a reason certain baits are popular in certain areas of the country: They work. At the FLW Tour event presented by Ranger Boats on the Harris Chain, it was proven yet again that sometimes you don’t need to think out of the box. The Harris Chain presents some different cover options than popular tournament stop Lake Okeechobee, but for submerged grass it’s tough to beat a lipless crankbait, and a dark worm pretty much always plays in the Sunshine State. Harris Chain Day 4 Coverage

Harris Chain Day 4 Coverage

Heading into day three of the FLW Tour presented by Ranger on the Harris Chain, it looks like John Cox was on cruise control. The Florida pro was seemingly finding and catching quality bedding bass at will, and the rest of the field was struggling to keep up. That all changed yesterday, when Cox caught only five keepers all day and barely put together a 10-pound limit. Behind him, almost everyone caught ‘em, and heading into the final day there are four other pros within five pounds of Cox – in Florida, that could be just half a bite. READ MORE »

Harris Chain Top 5 Patterns Day 3

With a three-day total of 54 pounds, 14 ounces, local pro John Cox is still leading the FLW Tour event presented by Ranger on the Harris Chain by just a smidge over 2 pounds. But after a meager day three, he is now charged with the task of holding off a pack of marauders waiting for him to make another misstep on Sunday. The trouble for Cox is that the other top five are all within 3-1/2 pounds, which isn’t a huge obstacle in Florida. READ MORE »

John Cox increased his lead Friday at the FLW Tour event presented by Ranger on the Harris Chain by sticking to his sight-fishing ways. Final Practice Day with Joseph Webster

Final Practice Day with Joseph Webster

The third and final day of practice is always an important one at an FLW Tour event, but for the third stop on the Harris Chain presented by Ranger it may hold even more importance. Because most of the pros are unfamiliar with this fishery, every hour they can get to explore the acres of grass and canals is beneficial. I figured there was no better time to hop in the boat with The Bass Federation national champ Joseph Webster, who won the “Living the Dream” package to earn a free ride to fish the Tour this season, and see how he approaches his last chance to dial in the bite on Harris.
