The north wind persists on day two of the Costa FLW Series on Lake Seminole, but it’s not near as gusty and blustery as yesterday. It has now leveled off to a steadier 10 to 15 mph breeze, allowing guys to spread out more.

Acres of grass flats and sandbars between the Flint River and Spring Creek seem to be the popular spots, as well as staging ditches up and down the Spring Creek Channel and at the mouth of Fish Pond Drain.

The Chattahoochee River side of the lake does not seem to have near as much traffic as the intersection of the Flint, Spring Creek and Fish Pond Drain.

As for fish catches, the leaders got off to fast starts this morning. Tournament leader John Duvall caught two solid 2-1/2 pounders pretty quick in his starting area and Buddy Gross caught four bass on his first stop as well. Randy Haynes on the other hand was struggling to get things going and began running and gunning, leaving the camera crew in the dust.

There were definitely more people sampling new water as many of the other top pros were nowhere to be found on their productive spots from day one.

As usual in springtime tournaments, the bright skies and warm sun are liable to help spark some better bites this afternoon. Tune in to watch the live weigh-in at 3 p.m. ET and see who can hold their ground and who stumbles to make the top-10 cut.
