MINNEAPOLIS – Bart Lindsey of Cottondale, Alabama, accumulated the most points of any Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) Fantasy Fishing player worldwide after last week’s FLW Tour event on Lake Guntersville presented by Lowrance. Lindsey won $5,000 by assembling a team of anglers and earning points based on their performance in the FLW Tour fishing tournament.

“I’ve been playing FLW Fantasy Fishing ever since it was launched, and this is the best I’ve ever done,” said Lindsey. “I decided to pick Tennessee River studs. I figured General Tire pro Mark Rose would be a favorite to win, Quaker State pro Scott Canterbury always does well on Alabama fisheries and Justin Atkins – who lives in Alabama – ended up being a high-value pick. You can’t go wrong with in-state anglers.”

Lindsey said he utilized different fantasy tools offered by FLW to gain an advantage over fellow Fantasy Fishing players.

“I’m an FLW member so I have the Member’s Advantage tools,” said Lindsey. “I read through the pundits’ picks and did some research through the angler profiles on the FLW website.”

Lindsey went on to offer some advice to potential Fantasy Fishing participants.

“Do your research and stick with the first team you create,” said Lindsey. “Trust your gut. It paid off for me this time.”

Finishing in second place was Josh Brooks of Waterloo, South Carolina, who won $1,000, and in third place was Dave Robinson of Chappell, Nebraska, who won $500.

Several other winners from across the globe took home prizes including cash, ShopFLW gift cards, hats and baits.

The 2017 Fantasy Fishing season consists of eight tournaments surrounding the FLW Tour regular season including the season-ending Forrest Wood Cup, the world championship of bass fishing. Fans compete for more than $7,000 in cash and prizes from each of the seven tournaments and a top prize of $5,000. The cumulative grand prize for the highest ranked player at the end of the season is $10,000.
