West Memphis, Ark., pro Mark Rose once again proved that he is one of the greatest tournament anglers of all time on the Tennessee River by winning the FLW Tour event presented by Lowrance at Lake Guntersville on Sunday. It’s Rose’s seventh career FLW win on the famed river system. Rose weighed in 18 pounds, 3 ounces in the final round of the four-day event for a tournament total of 79-11, and he needed every bit of it to hold off North Carolina pro Bryan Thrift, whose 22-pound final limit gave him a total weight of 78-12. West Memphis, Ark., pro Mark Rose was able to expand his lead at the FLW Tour event presented by Lowrance on Lake Guntersville despite an extreme shift in weather conditions that saw sunny skies and mild temperatures replace this morning’s bitter cold and north wind. Rose began Saturday with a 3-pound lead over North Carolina pro Bryan Thrift. He added a 19-pound limit to improve to 61-8 for three days and now leads Thrift, who maintains the second-place spot, by 4-12. Rose will lead the way on Sunday when the top 10 pros finish up at the legendary Tennessee River impoundment. If he wins, it’ll be the seventh victory of his FLW career on the Tennessee River system.
