Staying consistent day by day, Christopher Hall of South Abington Township, Pa., climbed his way up the leaderboard for the co-angler win in the Costa FLW Series presented by Ranger Boats on Oneida. Checking in with 15 pounds, 12 ounces on day one, 14-3 on day two, and 16-1 on the final day, Hall weighed an even 46 pounds total for the win and a new Ranger Z117 with a 90 horsepower outboard.

Hall says that staying consistent and making adjustments were key to his week, and that shows in the lures he used to claim victory. Across the board, Hall says he caught fish on a Lucky Craft Sammy (ayu), a melon-colored tube on a 3/8-ounce Texas rig, a Lucky Craft Pointer 78, a drop-shot rig and an umbrella rig.

“I’ve been fishing that lake since I was 18 years old,” says Hall. “I know it gets tough wen it gets slick calm like that, so if you downsize and grind you can catch a good limit.”

This win is Hall’s fourth with FLW, it’s his first on the Costa FLW Series and it joins co-angler wins at the Walmart FLW Tour and Series level as well as a boater win in the FLW Bass Fishing League.

“I used to fish as a boater, but I had a career change so I don’t get as much vacation time and it’s very demanding on my schedule,” says Hall, who works at a natural gas field. “I just stuck to it and I’ve had a lot of success. I always downsize my baits or go to something totally opposite of what a pro is doing. I think 50 percent of the equation is getting a good draw and the rest is being able to adapt and change to different conditions”
