Fifty FLW anglers all taking a run at the most coveted title in bass fishing will without doubt take center stage over the course of the four-day Forrest Wood Cup presented by Walmart in Huntsville, Ala., Aug. 4-7, but fans who attend won’t have to wait for the daily weigh-in times to enjoy the action. FLW and its sponsors and partners put together a full schedule of additional events to coincide with the 2016 Cup.

Here’s a listing of some of the attractions waiting for you in Huntsville:

TBF Junior World Championship

Held in conjunction with the Forrest Wood Cup, the TBF Junior World Championship will pit 37 11- to 15-year-old state junior championship anglers against each other on Lake Guntersville for a two-day tournament on Aug. 5 and 6. During day one of the event, each individual’s weight will be only compared against those in his or her own geographic divisions. Then on the final day, with weights zeroed, the top angler from each of the six divisions from day one will fish for the grand title and a $2,500 scholarship. Fans can visit bassfederation.com for more details.

British BBQ Society

The smell of arguably America’s most valued culinary pastime will be wafting through the air just outside the doors of the main entrance of the Von Braun Center from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the final two days of the Forrest Wood Cup. The Bass & BBQ Festival hosted by WQRV 100.3 The River will be held in conjunction with the free FLW Expo and live weigh-ins. The event raises money for various charities selected by the four regional pit masters on site. Visit 1003theriver.iheart.com for additional Bass & BBQ information.
