Lake Seminole is known to be more of a quality lake than a quantity lake, and that trait showed on the morning of day one as anglers who were catching fish were not necessarily getting many bites, but 3-pound-pluses seemed to be the norm for the ones hauled in over the gunwale.

Early reports indicate a local favorite, Trevor Fitzgerald, had a 6-pounder and a 3-pounder secured in the livewell early with plenty of time to fill out his limit.

A lot of boats were spotted offshore working the mid-depths in the main lake. As expected, Spring Creek is a popular place with plenty of boats milling around in the flooded forests of trees.  The water in Spring Creek is much clearer than the stain coming down the Chattahoochee and Flint. A brisk morning breeze from the south has slacked off and the lake is beginning to slick off. Anglers were hoping the breeze would stay around all day to help ruffle the surface of the creek’s clear waters, but calm, clear waters might prevail in the afternoon.

There are undoubtedly some good fish being caught, so weigh-in should be a fun time if you like big ones. For that, check back to FLWFishing.com at 2:30 p.m. ET.
