Price nets co-angler title
EVANS, Ga. – Jayme Rampey of Liberty, S.C., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 29 pounds even to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Savannah River Division Super Tournament on Clarks Hill Lake Sunday. For his victory, Rampey earned $7,687.
“I caught most of my fish on a Zoom Horny Toad and a Knight’s Custom Lures buzzbait around main-lake hydrilla,” said Rampey, who was a rookie on the Walmart FLW Tour this season. “There’s not much hydrilla in the lake right now, so you could pretty much get a bite wherever you found it.
“It was pretty tough and I didn’t catch many, but the ones I caught were good ones,” Rampey explained. “It was definitely not a sure thing. I lost a couple of fish on the first day that I thought would really hurt me, but it turns out they didn’t.”

The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 9-11 Regional Championship on Lake Cherokee in Morristown, Tenn. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518C with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 120 tournaments throughout the season, five in each division. The top 40 boaters and co-anglers from each division qualify for a regional tournament and compete to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the Walmart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the Rayovac FLW Series or even the Walmart FLW Tour.
