Big bite brings McTier co-angler title

LA CROSSE, Wis. – All week, local fishermen spoke about how tight the leaderboard would be with the state of Wisconsin instituting a three-bass limit. They said the outcome of the EverStart Series event on the Mississippi River would likely come down to one big bite. Rex McTier was fortunate enough to receive that bite on day three. Malone wins Everstart Series Central Division event on Mississippi River

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Three-bass limit at the EverStart Series Central Division tournament on the Mississippi River turned into a real shoot-out as pro Paul Malone of Pleasant Valley, Iowa had three bass weighing 11 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to win the event. His three day total of nine bass totaling 30-5 beat pro Zach King of Clarksville, Ark., by a mere 6 ounces and earned him $31,194. READ MORE »


Rhead replicates river success

LA CROSSE, Wis. – While many of the day-one leaders had a difficult time duplicating their day-one stringer, Denny Rhead did not. In fact, the Elmwood, Wis., native said the dropping water actually helped his bite.
