Boater John Lorenzo of Kane, Pa., caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 2 ounces Saturday to win $4,000 plus a $2,000 Ranger Cup bonus in the FLW BFL Northeast Division tournament on the Potomac River. Under bright sunny skies, Lorenzo was throwing black-and-blue jigs in the grass on the main lake below Mattawoman.

Gregory Selby of Hanover, Pa., won the Co-angler Division of the May 1 BFL Northeast Division tournament to earn $2,000.Gregory Selby of Hanover, Pa., caught a five-bass limit weighing 15 pounds, 13 ounces to win $2,000 in the Co-angler Division on the Potomac River. Selby was using a pumpkin-seed Senko in 4 to 6 feet of water around grassy areas on the north end of the lake by the Army base to bag his limit.

Coming up

The next BFL Northeast Division tournament is scheduled for June 12 at Chesapeake Bay in North East, Md. After the fifth Northeast Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 7-9 Regional Championship at the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Va., where boaters will compete for a top prize of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
