Boater Curtis Talbott of Forest, Va., caught a five-bass limit weighing 20 pounds, 6 ounces Saturday to earn $4,359 as winner of the BFL Shenandoah Division tournament on Smith Mountain Lake. He used spinnerbaits near rocky points to bag his limit.

Frady winning co-angler
David Frady of Roanoke, Va., caught four bass weighing 11 pounds, 13 ounces to earn $2,175 as winner of the Co-angler Division on Smith Mountain Lake. Frady was using Bandit Tennessee Shad around rocks and lay-downs to claim his victory.

The next BFL Shenandoah Division tournament is scheduled for May 15 at Kerr Lake in Henderson, N.C. After the fifth Shenandoah Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 7-9 Regional Championship at the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Va., where boaters will compete for a chance to win a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
