Boater Terry Tucker of Gadsden, Ala., caught a five-bass limit weighing 23 pounds, 10 ounces Saturday to win $3,879 in the BFL Bama Division tournament on Weiss Lake. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing while Tucker bagged his limit by fishing crankbaits and flipping a jig in the midlake area.

Rounding out the top 10 in the Boater Division:

2nd: Marty Wilson, Centre, Ala., five bass, 20-3, $1,940

3rd: Adam Brown, Attalla, Ala., five bass, 17-6, $1,293

4th: Billy Brindle, Calhoun, Ga., five bass, 17-1, $905

5th: Kevin Pace, Russellville, Ala., five bass, 14-5, $776

6th: Wayne Boyd, Cedar Bluff, Ala., five bass, 13-4, $679

6th: Keith Buterbaugh, Douglasville, Ga., three bass, 13-4, $679

8th: Bradley Jones, Silver Creek, Ga., five bass, 13-2, $582

He was swimming a jig in the midlake area to catch his limit as well.

Coming up

The next BFL Bama Division tournament is scheduled for May 8 at Logan Martin Lake in Pell City, Ala. After the fifth Bama Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 2-3 Regional Championship at Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Ala., where boaters will compete for a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, and co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
