Boater Wesley Helton of Calhoun, Tenn., caught a five-bass limit weighing 16 pounds, 4 ounces Saturday to win $5,766 in the BFL Volunteer Division tournament on Douglas Lake. Helton was using a jig near the I-40 Bridge to catch his limit.

Co-angler Rich Wilson of Knoxville, Tenn., earned $1,883 as winner of the March 27 BFL Volunteer event.Rich Wilson of Knoxville, Tenn., caught a five-bass limit weighing 11 pounds, 15 ounces to win $1,883 in the Co-angler Division on Douglas Lake. Wilson was in Flat Creek using a Strike King Zero Worm jig to bag his limit.

Coming up

The next BFL Volunteer Division tournament is scheduled for May 1 at South Holston Reservoir in Bristol, Tenn. After the fifth Volunteer Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 2-3 Regional Championship at Fort Loudoun-Tellico lakes in Lenoir City, Tenn., where boaters will compete for a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
