Dennis Barnes of Boaz, Ala., caught a five-bass limit weighing 22 pounds even, and Keith Harper of Grove Oak, Ala., caught four bass, also weighing 22 pounds, to tie for first in the BFL Choo Choo Division tournament held Feb. 6 on Lake Guntersville. They each earned $4,400 for the shared win.

Rounding out the top 10 boaters at Guntersville:

3rd: Horace Alred, Cedartown, Ga., 4 bass, 21-10, $1974

4th: Rodney A. Hill, Decherd, Tenn., 5 bass, 20-11, $1382

5th: James Hairrell, Iuka, Miss., 5 bass, 20-3, $1,184

6th: Tracy Wallace, Lithia Springs, Ga., 5 bass, 20-1, $1,085

Boater Keith Harper of Grove Oak, Ala., tied for first place in the BFL Choo Choo Division event at Guntersville. He won $4,440. 7th: Earl Anderson, Hollywood, Ala., 5 bass, 19-4, $987

Taylor takes Co-angler Division

Wesley D. Taylor of Manchester, Tenn., caught a five-bass limit weighing 18 pounds, 14 ounces to win the BFL Choo Choo Co-angler Division on Lake Guntersville. He earned $2,960.

Looking ahead

The next BFL Choo Choo Division tournament is scheduled for March 13 at Lake Guntersville in Guntersville, Ala. The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers from each of the five divisional tournaments will qualify for the Oct. 7-9 Regional Championship on Lake Barkley in Kuttawa, Ky., where boaters will fish for a new Ranger 198VX powered by a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard plus a Chevy pickup and co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
