21-pound catch over two days takes Stratos Owners’ Tournament Trail Championship on Old Hickory Lake

The team of Tommy Farley of Colonial Heights, Va., and Chad Craven of Raleigh, N.C., won the Stratos Owners World Championship on Old Hickory Lake with a two-day catch of 21 pounds.

GALLATIN, Tenn. – The team of Tommy Farley of Colonial Heights, Va., and Chad Craven of Raleigh, N.C., won the Stratos Owners’ Tournament Trail World Championship on Old Hickory Lake near Gallatin, Tenn., held Oct. 6-7. The anglers earned a 2007 Stratos 201 Pro XL with a 200-horsepower Evinrude E-TEC for their accomplishment.

Farley and Craven’s two-day winning catch of 10 bass weighed 21 pounds. The anglers caught their bass on crankbaits targeting submerged brush piles close to roadbeds by the dam.

Rounding out the top three teams were Ricky Shumpert of Lexington, S.C., and Brent Long of Catawba, N.C. (10 bass, 19 pounds, 14 ounces, $4,650); and Terry Hopson and Teddy Bogard, both of Pine Bluff, Ark. (10 bass, 19 pounds, 2 ounces, $2,325).

The team of Lonnie Tanner of Williamstown, W.Va., and Charles Watson of Saint Marys, W.Va., earned the big bass award on day two with a 5-pound, 5-ounce largemouth earning them $465.

The top 35 teams from the Lake Seminole, Lake Ouachita, Santee Cooper Lakes and Lake Erie regionals as well as the top 20 teams from the California Delta and the top 10 teams from the Bay of Quinte regional were invited to the 2006 Stratos Owners’ Championship held Oct. 6-7 on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin, Tenn. The winning team from each of the stateside regionals also advances to the 2007 $2 million, no-entry-fee Forrest Wood Cup where they will compete in the Co-angler Division.
