PELL CITY, Ala. – Boater Kenny Pannell of Springville, Ala., earned 300 points and $7,239 Sunday as the winner of the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Dixie Division Super Tournament on Logan Martin Lake.

Pannell’s two-day winning catch of 10 bass weighed 35 pounds, 3 ounces. He was throwing a jig in and around stumps, lay-downs and other submerged structure to catch his bass.

Pannell also won the Boater Division Snickers Big Bass award with a 5-pound, 10-ounce bass that earned him an additional $1,080.

Rounding out the top five boaters are Mike Keel of Auburn, Ala. (10 bass, 29 pounds, 6 ounces, $3,619); Tim Hurst of Oxford, Ala. (10 bass, 28 pounds, 8 ounces, $2414); Scott Canterbury of Odenville, Ala. (10 bass, 27 pounds, 13 ounces, $1,689); and Jamie Horton of Centerville, Ala. (10 bass, 27 pounds $1,448).

Allan Glasgow of Ashville, Ala., earned $3,569 as the co-angler winner thanks to nine bass weighing 20 pounds, 10 ounces that he caught on a crankbait thrown around underwater stumps and brush piles.

Rounding out the top five co-anglers are Kyle Dorsett of Lebanon, Tenn. (10 bass, 19 pounds, 13 ounces, $1,785); Craig Fair of Birmingham, Ala. (10 bass, 19 pounds, 11 ounces, $1,191); Chris Carlisle of Hoover, Ala. (10 bass, 18 pounds, 13 ounces, $833); and Shawn Wikoff of Phenix City, Ala. (eight bass, 18 pounds, 9 ounces, $714).

Matt Miles of Heflin, Ala., earned $532 as the co-angler Snickers Big Bass winner with a 3-pound, 10-ounce bass.

The top 40 Dixie Division boaters and 40 co-anglers, based on year-end points standings, will now advance to the no-entry-fee Lake Chickamauga Regional Championship near Hixson, Tenn., Oct. 12-14, where they will compete against Bulldog, LBL and Music City division anglers for a new Ranger boat, as well as a Chevy truck in the Boater Division, plus six slots in the no-entry-fee 2007 Wal-Mart BFL All-American presented by Chevy. With a total purse of $1 million and a potential $140,000 cash going to the winning boater and $70,000 going to the winning co-angler, the All-American is one of the most prestigious and lucrative events in bass fishing.

The Boater Division points champion who advances the farthest at the All-American will earn $10,000 as the Yamaha “Be the Best” points champion. The co-angler points champion who advances the farthest will earn $5,000 as the Yamaha “Be the Best” points champion in the Co-angler Division.
