MINNEAPOLIS – Tune in Sunday, June 18 to “FLW Outdoors” on FSN for the $200,000 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series event presented by Yamaha in Port Aransas, Texas. The second Western Division event of the $1.9 million FLW Redfish Series season concludes with the winning team claiming a cash prize of $37,500.

The “FLW Outdoors” saltwater series is a reality-format show told from the anglers’ perspective. Each week the top-five finalists are followed from takeoff to weigh-in, allowing the audience to feel the anglers’ nerves, listen to their strategy and learn from their mistakes. The stories evolve and the suspense grows throughout the one-hour show until the final weigh-in results are announced.

The June 18 show follows Danny Coppin of Belton, Texas, and Grant Coppin of Corpus Christi, Texas, who caught a four-redfish total weighing 28 pounds, 14 ounces to lead the event after two days. The father-son team fished the Sea Drift area approximately 55 miles north of Port Aransas. The Coppins, who took sixth place in the first tournament of their careers earlier this year in Rockport, Texas, said they were enjoying every minute of the competition during their rookie season in the FLW Redfish Series. The team caught their fish blind-casting homemade 1/2-ounce spinnerbaits along the drop-offs between shallow flats and deep cuts.

FSN also follows Team Berkley, consisting of brothers Jonathan and Kris Culpepper of Houston, Texas, who caught a two-day total of 28 pounds, 3 ounces, to grab hold of second place overall – merely 11 ounces off the lead. The Culpeppers, who are fishing with 3/8-ounce jigheads tipped with Berkley Gulp!, are gambling and making a 70-mile run south that leaves them with only a little more than three hours to fish.

The father-son team of Jay Watkins Sr., and Jay Watkins, Jr. - both of Rockport, Texas - share a laugh onstage. The Watkins team ultimately finished in fifth place at Port Aransas. The father-son team of Jay Watkins Sr. and Jay Watkins Jr. – both of Rockport, Texas – turned in a two-day catch of 27 pounds, 7 ounces to qualify for the finals in third place. Watch as these veteran anglers put their vast tournament experience to work on day three.
