ARKDALE, Wis. – Boater David Hackett of Amherst, Wis., earned $3,440 Saturday as winner of the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League Wisconsin Division event on the Pentenwell Lake. Amherst, along with co-angler Michael E. Kordus of Menasha, Wis., caught a five-walleye limit weighing 15 pounds, 15 ounces to win by more than 5 pounds. Amherst also took home a $400 boat bonus.

Hackett and Kordus trolled a variety of Rapala Shadraps and Walleye Divers along a breakline on the south end of the lake to land their winning limit of walleyes. The majority of their bites came on the top of the breakline in about six to eight feet of water, said Kordus.

Rounding out the top five boaters are Heath Bohman of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. (five walleyes, 10 pounds, 1 ounce, $1,512); Bob Woodke of Gillett, Wis., (five walleyes, 8 pounds, 8 ounces, $1,260 plus $300 bonus); Scott Hausauer of Appleton, Wis. (five walleyes, 8 pounds, 4 ounces, $1,092 plus $250 bonus) and Luke Kersten of Boyceville, Wis., (five walleyes, 8 pounds, 1 ounces, $756).

Kordus earned $1,470 as winner of the Co-angler Division. Co-angler competitors share weight with their boater partner. Rounding out the top five co-anglers are John Ohnesorge of Westbend, Wis. ($756); Bob Bach of Brown Deer, Wis. ($630, plus $150 bonus); Bryan Doering of Princeton, Wis. ($546); and Curtis Wuensch of Rockland, Wis. ($378).

Three FLW Walleye League divisions – Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin – each feature three one-day events and one two-day Super Tournament during the regular season. Every angler who receives weight credit earns points, with 200 points awarded to the winner, 199 for second, 198 for third, and so on, except for Super Tournaments, which award 300 points to the winner, 299 for second, 298 for third, and so on. These points determine angler standings.

The top 35 boaters and 35 co-anglers from each FLW Walleye League division advance to the $141,950 Wal-Mart FLW Walleye League Finals, set for Sept. 7-9 on Lake Michigan in Escanaba, Mich. Anglers finishing in the top 10 in each division also receive priority entry into the Wal-Mart FLW Walleye Tour for 2007.

The Wisconsin Division’s second stop will be held on Wolfe River Chain of Lakes June 3, followed by an event on Lake Winnebago July 8 and the Super Tournament presented by Evinrude July 29-30 in Green Bay.
