MINNEAPOLIS – Tune in Sunday to “FLW Outdoors” on FSN for the $200,000 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series event held in Galveston, Texas. The third Western Division event of the $1.9 million FLW Redfish Series season concludes with the winning team claiming a cash prize of $25,000.

The “FLW Outdoors” saltwater series is a reality-format show told from the anglers’ perspective. Each week the top four teams are followed from takeoff to weigh-in, allowing the audience to feel the anglers’ nerves, listen to their strategy, and learn from their mistakes. The stories evolve and the suspense grows throughout the one-hour show until the final weigh-in results are announced.

Teams compete for two days to determine the winner based on accumulated weight.

After the first day of competition, Brandon Garrison and Brennan Head, both from Lafayette, La., led the field with two redfish weighing 15 pounds, 12 ounces. The two pros decided to run 75 miles to an area where they could sight-fish with 1/4-ounce Nemire Red Ripper spoons and Terminator in-line spinnerbaits, rather than attempt to decipher Galveston’s deep underwater shell bars.

Sitting in second place after day one are Rockport, Texas, pros David Nesloney Sr. and David Nesloney Jr. This father and son team also made a long run in search of more familiar waters. Their gamble paid off as the two weighed a pair of redfish for 15 pounds by using gold spoons and Skitterwalk topwaters.

Although the day one conditions were perfect, the fishing was not as only 73 out of 109 teams managed to catch a red drum.

Watch as the field of 109 teams takes their final shot at claiming victory at the $200,000 qualifying event.
