MINNEAPOLIS – Tune in Sunday to “Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors” on FSN for the $200,000 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series event held in Port Aransas, Texas. The inaugural Western Division event of the $1.9 million FLW Redfish Series season concludes with the winning team claiming a cash prize of $37,500.

The “Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors” saltwater series is a reality-format show told from the anglers’ perspective. Each week the top four teams are followed from takeoff to weigh-in, allowing the audience to feel the anglers’ nerves, listen to their strategy and learn from their mistakes. The stories evolve and the suspense grows throughout the one-hour show until the final weigh-in results are announced.

The Sunday, Sept. 11, show follows father-and-son team David Nesloney and David Nesloney Jr. of Rockport, Texas, as the two employ fly-fishing tactics for redfish. Despite utilizing this rare approach, these Ranger pros locate three pods of tailing redfish and fare extremely well, catching 14 pounds, 3 ounces.

Local redfish anglers Kevin Shaw and Kevin Sahadi of Corpus Christi, Texas, weighed in two redfish for 16 pounds, 5 ounces to finish day one in second place. Shaw and Sahadi caught about a dozen reds by drift fishing and making a nearly 80-mile run each morning to their spot.

Leading after the first day of competition were Rockport, Texas, natives Mike Patterson and Brett Phillips, who caught a two-fish limit weighing 16 pounds, 14 ounces.

FSN also follows brothers Charlie Barton of Port Lavaca, Texas, and Jack Barton Laguna Vista, Texas. These Yamaha pros grabbed the fourth-place position on day one with 16 pounds, 3 ounces. Watch as this steady redfish team pulls in several giant reds on day two only to learn that they were slightly over the slot limit.

FSN broadcasts “Wal-Mart FLW Outdoors” Sundays from 11 a.m. to noon ET. Check local listings for show times and channels in your area. FLWOutdoors.com also provides an online show guide so viewers can keep tabs on what events will be covered throughout the season.
