David Curtis of Trinity is expecting a free-for-all when the Wal-Mart Texas Tournament Trail makes its fourth stop of 2005 at Toledo Bend Reservoir.
“There should be a lot of things going on and a lot of different ways to catch ’em, shallow or deep,” said Curtis, winner of the 2004 TTT Championship.
Curtis predicts there will be a good bite on jigs flipped around main-lake hydrilla beds and on topwaters worked in relation to shallow peppergrass beds. Crankbaits and Carolina rigs fished around underwater channels and sloughs in water ranging from 5 to 15 feet deep also could be effective.
Curtis’ Call: 18-20 pounds to win.
