EverStart Series Western Division, March 5-8

This vast desert reservoir in the shadow of Las Vegas’ Glitter Gulch has been suffering through some tough times lately. The lake has been at least 30 feet below normal pool, and that has been affecting the overall size of Mead’s largemouths.

“Spinner baits, crankbaits and drop-shot rigs will be key patterns in this tournament,” said Wal-Mart FLW Tour pro Andre Moore of Scottsdale, Ariz. “The bass will likely be in the prespawn phase, and they will be on secondary points in 4 to 20 feet of water. It’s going to be important to keep moving. The fish will be schooled up, so there may be large areas that just don’t have any fish.”

Moore predicts the Overton Arm and the Vegas Wash area will be key spots.
