Anglers head out onto Grand Lake one last time in search of EverStart tournament title

GROVE, Okla. – With a beautiful crescent moon serving as backdrop for this morning’s takeoff, EverStart finalists got an early jump on today’s competition as tournament officials permitted anglers to head out of Red 11 Port marina shortly after 5:30 a.m. – a full 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

In addition to the depature time, anglers should see a significant change in the weather today as well. Unlike the previous three days, temperatures are expected to reach into the mid 60s before the day is over – a welcome respite from the unseasonably cool weather that has dominated conditions over the course of the week. And because many female bass have been waiting for warmer weather to move up into the shallows to spawn, it is quite possible that anglers could pull some of the largest stringers of the tournament during today’s competition.

The stakes, as usual, are considerable for the finalists. For the pros, a first-place finish will be rewarded with $15,000 and a brand new Ranger boat valued anywhere between $25,000 and $35,000. The co-angler title will net some lucky angler a check for $6,000.

EverStart action concludes at today’s weigh-in, scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, located at 2115 South Main Street in Grove, Okla.
