Outlook calls for rain in semifinal round

HENDERSON, N.C. – Clouds have emerged and rain has started to fall on the semifinal round of the EverStart Series Eastern Division tournament at Kerr Lake. Sixty competitors are left – 30 pros and 30 co-anglers – to battle it out in a one-day shootout to see who advances to tomorrow’s top-10 final round in each division.

Success will come today to those anglers who best figure out how to handle the changing weather. While the tournament week began with bluebird skies over North Carolina, the forecast calls for an 80-percent chance of rain as Friday wears on. For some, that could spell a livelier bass bite and a ticket into tomorrow’s action. For others less able to adapt, it could throw off the fishing pattern.

After today’s competition, both the pro and co-angler fields will be trimmed to 10 anglers apiece for tomorrow’s final round. Weigh-in begins today at 2:30 p.m. at Satterwhite Point Marina located at 6254 Satterwhite Point Road outside of Henderson. The four-day tournament ends tomorrow, when the winning pro will receive $15,000 and a Ranger boat. The winning co-angler will receive $6,000.
