Former President and founding member of the University of South Carolina’s tournament bass fishing club, Anglers @ USC, class of 2013. Now a high school social studies teacher in Marlboro County, SC, soon moving to Richland County to teach in Columbia, SC. I’m excited to get more experience on Lake Murray, where USC hosted its first National Championship and later won our first FLW College Fishing National Championship. I am proud to say I was a member of that team and I am excited that there are such good fishermen winning titles for what was once a group of 8 or so guys led by U.S. Marine and fishing industry insider Stephen Britt of Pure Fishing. I also gleaned a lot of knowledge from Brett Mitchell, Santee guide and Tour Pro. My experience on the Tennessee River chain from Pickwick to Guntersville, and all the way to places like the Alabama River and Arkansas River have given me extensive insight into the sport, industry, and business that is competitive bass fishing. The people who I have been around have made me a better fisherman by proxy, but I started with my dad in small ponds as a child, and later on Lake Wateree as a teenager, where men like Dearal Rodgers-Wateree guide- and Tour Pro, and Jay Keith-“Living the Dream” co-angler Championship winner- told me everything they could to help me excel on those waters, leading to a 2nd place finish at a Bassmaster ABA there several years ago. Since my last tournament, a BFL on Santee 2 years ago, I have not been in the world of competitive fishing, but I am ready to begin again this year in 2017 and pursue my passion of competing. I am constantly researching and map-reading while learning to be proficient in current fishing technology, which is in preparation for the next opportunity to showcase the breadth of knowledge the aforementioned Pros, my dad, and my experiences have so patiently- and sometimes gruelingly- afforded me.
