The final round of the Costa FLW Series Northern Division event on the 1000 Islands started off with calm conditions giving the top 10 wide eyes in anticipation to make long runs out to Lake Ontario.

Because there is so much water and only a few camera boats we decided to dedicate the day to covering the top two pros.

Leader Scott Dobson has spent the bulk of his day around Wolfe Island looking for fish in shallower water. When the camera boat left him around 11 o’clock he only had four fish and missed a few other big ones. On the bright side, he does have a few worth bringing back to Clayton to weigh in.

Cal Climpson has been working an area north of Amherst Island. The high winds yesterday blew lots of “green slime” into his area covering the rocks and the smallmouth abandoned their spot. From there he started to fish his way back to the ramp making multiple stops along the way. He has a limit with a nice kicker, but like Dobson has lost a few fish that may have helped.

Both the Johnstons and Bob Izumi are big threats to keep an eye on at weigh-in. They know the lake as good as anyone and are liable to sack ‘em up.

This is going to be a good one to watch, so tune in at 2 p.m. ET to see who brings home the trophy.
