When Ranger pro Matt Arey launched his Ranger into Beaver Lake this morning, he had a cushion of 2 1/2 pounds over second-place angler Andy Morgan. But at the halfway point today, it’s not Morgan making a move to take over the lead. It’s local favorite Travis Fox.

Fox came into the day facing a 5-pound, 1-ounce deficit and went on a tear at around 10 o’clock. He’s got a limit in the “low teens,” with plenty of water still to fish.

Early reports say that Arey has about 13 pounds. That’ll be tough to beat, but Fox is in the right area up the White River to bring in a haul of heavy largemouths that could blow this event wide open.
