In an ongoing effort to provide as much interaction between world-class anglers and fishing fans as possible, FLWOutdoors.com has announced the 59th installment of FLW Live Reel Chat. On Thursday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. Central time (3 p.m. ET), visitors to FLWOutdoors.com will be able to correspond directly with Jacob Wheeler, the 2012 Forrest Wood Cup champion, in a special live chat-room format.

After winning the 2011 BFL All-American, 21-year-old Jacob Wheeler of Indianapolis, Ind., took the bass-fishing world by storm after completing a wire-to-wire victory at the 2012 Forrest Wood Cup on Lake Lanier in Duluth, Ga. In the process, Wheeler rewrote the record books, becoming the youngest angler in FLW history to win the Forrest Wood Cup. Wheeler, who took home a first-place prize totaling $500,000, also grabbed the record for the largest margin of victory in Cup history after out-fishing his next closest rival by 7 pounds, 5 ounces. Leading up to the Cup, fishing in his very first season as a pro on the FLW Tour in 2012, Wheeler netted a string of impressive rookie performances, finishing eighth overall on Ketucky/Barkley lakes and ending the season ranked 30th overall. Wheeler now boasts six top-10 finishes and nearly $675,000 in total winnings since his FLW career began in 2010.

Chat directly with Wheeler

Participation in the upcoming chat is simple. At the start of the next live chat on Aug. 23, visitors can log on at 2 p.m. Central time and interact directly with Wheeler or simply watch the chat unfold online. As always, FLW fishing fans may begin submitting questions immediately.

During the chat fishing fans will be able to ask Wheeler about his Forrest Wood Cup victory, what it was like to win the 2011 BFL All-American title, pose tips-and-technique questions or ask anything else that comes to mind. Again, visitors to FLWOutdoors.com are able to log on and submit questions in advance of the scheduled chat in order to have the first shot at getting their questions answered. It’s also a great way to participate if you’re unable to make the Aug. 23 live chat. However, for those who miss the chat entirely, a transcript of the event will be posted to the site in article form immediately following its conclusion.

In addition, bass-fishing fans who missed out on any previous FLW Live Reel Chats can find links to their full transcripts here.

FLWOutdoors.com will offer the FLW Live Reel Chat format continually, with regularly scheduled chats occurring after each FLW Tour event. Also, additional chats will be added throughout each month as anglers or fishing celebrities become available.
