Shin: Ouch!

Beaver day-two weigh-in notes

Shinichi Fukae missed a limit today, catching just four fish for 4-6. That’s news at Beaver Lake, and it’s all bad for fantasy players.

In other news that could prove problematic on the fantasy front: Mark Pack throttled back intentionally on day two. He said he had a 10-pound limit by 10:30 and decided to save the rest for the next two days. He now sits with 25 pounds even. However, with so many good catches this week, will that be enough? It should, based on Beaver’s history, but yesterday was gangbusters for lots of guys. Plus, they’re saying the better catches are coming later in the day. Pack weighed in dangerously early today.

Also, Andy Morgan: Decent limits both days, but not enough for the cut. Could be a case of the guy fishing the standings title (he’s currently ranked first) instead of gunning for the win this week. Dunno, just a theory. He deserves all he gets in the AOY race, but that could hurt Morgan fantasy fans who need those top-10 bonus and exacta points.

Quick observation: Early weights are lower than the top weights yesterday. Could be another “late-flight advantage” day on the FLW Tour. Might shake up the leaderboard significantly.
