Former FLW tournament director Gale Stearns passes away

FLW Outdoors is sad to announce the passing of Gale Stearns, longtime former tournament director with the Wal-Mart FLW Tour and Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League. He died of a heart attack Sunday, Dec. 14, at age 60.
Gale was a tournament director on the BFL circuit from 1985 to 1998. In 1998, he took the helm as FLW tournament director until his retirement in 2001. Over the years, Stearns also competed in a number of fishing tournaments at all levels.
