By the time we stopped yesterday we had made it 500 miles, to Buffalo, NY. Here we stayed overnight at a Flying J truck stop, and this morning began the final leg of this Detroit drive. Our route today took us up through Niagara Falls, and across the border into Canada. It’s about 150 miles across Canada and then back into the U.S. at Port Huron, Michigan. From there it’s only about 30 miles south to Algonac State Park, at the north end of Lake St. Clair, where we will set up our base camp. As usual when we arrive at place like this, hundreds if not thousands of miles away from home, we immediately see someone we know. We visited with Dwayne Horton, and Abbie & Judy Israel, who also arrived in town today. We’ve come to realize that we know far more people out on the road than we do back home.
