Walmart BFL Tournament Preview

The 2015 Walmart Bass Fishing League continues its tournament season with three tournaments the weekend of Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015. The Bama Division tournament will open their season on Lake Eufala, the Cowboy Division kicks off on Sam Rayburn Reservoir and the North Carolina division makes their first stop of the year at Lake Norman. Up to 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000 respectively in the one-day events. READ MORE »


Weekend Wrap-up – February 23, 2015

Last weekend was a light one for FLW by most standards, but there’s still plenty of fishing news to report. While Casey Ashley was winning the Bassmaster Classic (he’s now won $400,000 on Lake Hartwell in under a year), Fred George went to Lake Okeechobee and earned the first Walmart Bass Fishing League win of his career, and the FLW College Fishing event on Texoma produced 15 new qualifiers for the Southern Conference Championship this fall. World Record Alert

On Saturday, Feb. 21, Lou Ferrante of Sparks, Nev., caught a 10.95-pound spotted bass from Bullards Bar Reservoir in California. If certified, it will be the new world record, beating out the current world record caught last year by Keith Bryan by about a half pound. READ MORE »


Meyer Motivated by “Catch” of a Lifetime

Cody Meyer had a tremendous Walmart FLW Tour season in 2014 – three top-10 finishes, his seventh consecutive Forrest Wood Cup qualification and a second-place finish in the Angler of the Year race. Suffice it to say, the seventh-year pro from Auburn, Calif., carries significant momentum into 2015, but that’s not all he’ll bring. Meyer’s recently intensified motivation comes from something you can’t find on stat sheets or in a tackle bag.
