Rain, rainbows, strong wind and changes have been the story of the final day of the Rayovac FLW Series presented by Evinrude on Clear Lake. Most of the pros went into the final day cautiously optimistic that the fresh weather rolling in would fire the bass up and make the tight race anyone’s game. Unfortunately, the weather seems to have made the fishing tougher for most of the pros.

After a slow morning for leader Joe Uribe Jr., he seems to be picking up the pace. Uribe filled a small limit early and has since added a 4-pounder and a 6-pounder to his limit. That’s not nearly enough to salt the win away on Clear Lake, but he’s definitely not giving things away.

Behind him, second place Mark Crutcher is in panic mode. He had a very small limit around 11 o’clock and was headed back to his day-one honey hole. Unlike Crutcher, third place Jody Jordan is applying some pressure. An early flurry produced three big ones and two lost fish for Jordan – the losses are particularly key, as Jordan still only has three fish. Even with three, Jordan likely has aobut 15 pounds and the making of the type of bag that could vault him to his second Rayovac FLW Series win on Clear in three years.

Back of the top three, there’s not much to report. Jim Hawkes was having a tough morning, Bryant Smith only had three for about six pounds around 10 a.m. and Jimmy Reese has a limit worth about 12 pounds. The rest of the field is a mystery, but everyone is still in it. Until Uribe really crushes them, nothing can be set in stone.

Check back at 3 p.m. PT for the final weigh-in to see who walks away the winner.
