The warm, sunny conditions that greeted Rayovac FLW Series Central Division anglers at the morning takeoff on Lake Dardanelle will continue through the afternoon. The light early breeze has increased to a 5-10 mph wind – a welcome factor as daytime temperatures approach 90 degrees.

Some made early stops on riprap banks and other shallow cover within minutes of the takeoff site, while others settled in for longer runs. According to on-water reports, Mark Rose got off to a quick start and had a small limit by 8:15 in the morning.

Rose was throwing a swim jig across shallow points. Others have been mixing it up with flipping and reaction baits. Reports indicate a few quality fish in the first couple of hours post-takeoff.

Notably, the lake level has come up about a foot since yesterday, and the influx has brought muddy water. While this can be detrimental in some cases, the decreased visibility could create new opportunities with reaction baits.

Check back for weigh-in beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT.
