Day two of the Rayovac FLW Series Southeast Division event on Guntersville is just as misty and nasty as the first. Lucky for us, the first day of the Mercury-presented event featured huge catches throughout the field.

Cameron Gautney set the pace on day one with 33 pounds, 8 ounces, but he seems to be a long way from repeating that on day two. Pressured by another competitor on his primary area, Gautney didn’t have a limit midway through the morning. Of course, the rest of the top 10 isn’t guaranteed to stay put either – Drew Benton had a limit but wasn’t seeing the quality he saw yesterday and sixth place pro Marco Valdez had also failed to duplicate his first day.

Overall, it seems like more of the field is targeting deeper prespawn bass on day two. That said, anglers running rip rap, bridges and mid-depth grass beds can still be found throughout the lake.

Today’s weigh-in is sure to be dramatic, though Gautney likely can’t fall out of the top 10, there will probably be plenty of movement across the board. Guntersville’s giants continue to bite and the scramble to make the cut and fish the final day is on.
